Phasing out 2G in the United States

[edit]

It's not clear from the article if only AT&T is shutting down 2G service in the United States at the end of this year or if other 2G providers are also doing so. Also, there's a reference[1] for the article that indicates this shutdown started in 2011. If that's the case it would seem like something that should be added to the article. --Marc Kupper|talk 21:57, 27 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Unsortable tables

[edit]

@Nightwalker-87: your recent revert for 2G and 3G tables appear to be a matter of taste as the red colors were still for already phased out networks and that red bold style was anyway odd, only employed in these two arricles among all tables across Wikipedia.

Having sortable tables is a matter of functionality that was addressed to ensure they work. I was simply fixing them. You might have been their editor and I wouldn't insist too much, knowing that sometimes contributors hold their edits dearly. Thanks. --Esperfulmo (talk) 19:34, 28 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Esperfulmo This is not a matter of taste. As you can find from an earlier discussion topic/comment, in the case of networks apparently phased out there is still missing information on their closure. This is the simple reason why they still appear highlighted. Nothing more, nothing less. However I assume (WP:AGF) and provide this additional explanation. Note also that there is additional formatting available to ensure proper formatting AFAIK despite highlighting, so there should be no mutually exclusive, if sorting should commonly really be considered necessary. Nightwalker-87 (talk) 20:48, 28 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Never mind, my dear. I already tried fixing the table with the color template, it was still unsortable. --Esperfulmo (talk) 20:59, 28 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Apparently sorting does not work properly also due to imprecise shutdown dates anyway, which is indeed a scope we're focussing on already, because we intend to avoid such. The table formatting itself is prepared. Nightwalker-87 (talk) 21:23, 28 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
